aBOUT DAVID SUPIERZ, founder of supierz water
David has more than 25 years’ experience in water treatment, spanning in house chemist roles, working for water treatment service providers and now running his own consultancy. He has advised some of Australia’s largest companies across a range of sectors on their water treatment programs. Clients value David’s thorough knowledge, commitment to long term outcomes and personable approach.
David began his career as an undergraduate Chemist with the Electricity Commission of NSW, while he studied his Bachelor of Applied Science (Chemistry) (Hons). He later attained his Masters of Engineering Management from UTS and Diploma of Frontline Management from the Australian Graduate School of Management. David has also co-authored and contributed to a number of papers on water treatment delivered at industry-based conferences.
As a station Chemist at Wallerawang and Mt Piper Power Stations, his role involved day to day management of water treatment plants, boilers, cooling systems and environmental monitoring programs.
Since 2000, David has predominantly worked for large water treatment services companies, Nalco, Transfield and Veolia Water. His roles ranged from working on the frontline in technical service, sales, account management and operations management. He has repeatedly been sought after to fill roles requiring his unique combination of client care and technical skill.
David has advised companies including Shell, Air Liquide, Linde, Roche, Delta Electricity, Macquarie Generation, Eraring Energy, Marubeni, BOC Gas, BHP Billiton, Orica, Qenos and Huntsman.
His work involved long term plant investigations and troubleshooting, auditing of water management systems, selecting chemical programs, delivering technical training and ensuring the day-to-day reliability and performance of the water treatment systems.
He has managed teams, business areas and business functions across multiple markets such as mining, food and beverage, manufacturing, power and oil & gas.
David works with clients small and large, leveraging his network to bring them customised solutions.
